Changing season!!! :)

I havenot ever been in Eau Claire in Sping, but I’m now await it too much! It’s going to the end of winter and changing season is coming. It will be spring soon! The landscape color will be change from white of snow to green of trees, yellow of sunlight and colors of flowers. We won’t see the white snow covers the whole of grass, trees and houses any more. It will be replaced by new spout of grass, leaves and we could hear the sound of birds which seem almost silent in cold winter. We could take off the heavy winter clothes and wear motley dress… Everything will go so brilliant. It will be more crowed in street because spring is the best time for us to walk and travel.
This is just my imagination, but I do hope it will be corlorful and lively in spring, because it’s the most beautiful season in a year.

In groups

One hundred years ago, Vietnam was under the occupation of France. I would have attended a French established school. Not only would I have been studying French, but I also would be involved in Hanoi Elegant for young females, which was very popular during that period of time. We would have to learn how to dress properly, how to cook and sew. The school would teach us proper manners of what were thought to be elegant by the European standard. As a child, I am certain that I would have many friends my age in my neighborhood and from school. We would play different traditional games after school hours such as “choi chuyen”, “o an quan”.

Service Learning as Reading partner

I chose reading partner as my service learning activity for several reasons. First of all, I like to work with children. They always make me feel younger and more energetic. Their innocence is always make me laugh and feel better about the my life. It is also very fun to listen to their understanding of the world around them, it reminds me much of my childhood. Secondly, as a English student, reading is a good way for me to not only improve my language skills in vocabulary, and simple grammar, but it also helps me to understand the culture better. I think service learning is a good way for the students to give back what they have learned to the community.

BOB

I was so excited with BOB - the Blugold Organizations Bash which hold on Feb 4th in Council Fire Room, Davies Center. I was surprised at the bustle and crowd there, many organizations, many students, many colors and a lot of funny activities playing at a time! I walked around the room, saw and heard all the things that organizations showed such as pictures, presentations, sang songs, played magic... They were really attractive.

I stopped at Photo Phanatics table and talked with the club's advisor. She talked to me about photography and several possible field trips to take photos during the school year. She is a photography professor at the University and she was willing to give the club some picture taking techniques for the field trip. She also suggested me to have a minor in Journalism during my course of study here. I felt really connected with her and I am looking forward to the first club meeting next Tuesday.

The second club that I wanted to join is Two To Tango. It is a organization to teach students from the University how to dance for free of charge. Their agenda has a wide variety of dances, from the more modern like Salsa or Cha-cha, swing, to the ballroom dances. I have planned to attend the first session this Sunday at 6:30 pm in McPhee building.
